Recently I’m craving a new toy camera; but I don’t really know which one to get.
I already have a Holga, a Diana and a Lubitel.
So if you can recommend any cool (preferably cheap)toy camera, please feel free
to do so here.
(and I do apologize to all of you digital buffs out there.)
And by the way, have a great and a happy new year!

Yes, this great find is scratched and all but I’m glad I have it: These kids have a tendency to grow up way too fast. The nerve!
She was about 4 when I took this picture. She is 13 now. A teenager. And everything that happened in between is a great mystery.
The picture was taken in 1999 with a Minolta SRT 101. I’m not sure what film speed was used but I’m quite sure it was a black & white Ilford. That’s what I typically used back then since it was free with the pack of Black & White Ilford photo paper (which I used in those days for darkroom printing).
I guess this all happened not TOO long ago, but so much had changed since then!
I mean the world had changed. And our lives. And our view on life. and we had to somehow adjust.

It came to my attention that a certain real estate company lifted six pictures from my site, without attempting to purchase them from me or even ask me for permission, simply put: they stole my pictures.
This type of thing happened many times before. People always felt free to “borrow” my pictures and use on thier sites or other applications. I usually just let it go. Rarely I’ll bother and email them asking to remove my picture off their site.
But this time I’m just sick and tired of people ripping off my work when it’s obvious on my site that I do offer my photos for sale and that they are copyrighted.
Its one thing when my pictures are taken by someone for personal use, it’s irritating and maybe not a nice thing to do, but I can be big enough and let it be.
But when a company who runs a commercial business is using my art to make their presentation look better and attract online business, without the courtesy of even acknowledging these are MY photos, not to say compensate me, then its just wrong and probably illegal! Honestly, I don’t see much difference between doing so and taking something from a store without paying for it.
I’m planning to email them and ask for the payment for making use of these photos (I’ll charge them my usual price). This time it won’t be enough if they just take the pictures down.
And I want to do it for everybody out there who had their pictures stolen.

Yesterday I made a couple of mixed media transfers, experimenting with different backgrounds, when I discovered something new.
Usually when I do image transfers from an inkjet printer I make sure to begin separating the transfer from the paper after about 15-30 minutes when I feel the transfer medium is sufficiently dry. I always assumed that if I waited too long the paper will be too difficult to remove and the transfer won’t work. But not so.
As it turned out, after applying the transfer medium yesterday I had to leave home and couldn’t attend to the transfers only a few hours later that night. By then the transfers were completely dry so I had to apply some more water than usual. However, unlike my dark prophecy I found out that the paper comes apart quite easily, and not only that, but the transfer had developed nicely and was pretty resistant to my abuse and turned out rather perfect.
So perfect that I had to use an artist knife to make it look a bit weathered
So there it is. Let it sit for a while and let it do its thing.
