Great slow day

A slow day. We hiked along the Potomac (or the Patowmac as George Washington would say ).
The lovely hike took place along the river at Great Falls which is where the Potomac is shared between Maryland and Virginia.

Earth day

Other than the obvious things such as reducing unnecessary electricity usage, planting something, recycling failed photo papers, bicycling, walking or taking the bus to work, all of us photographers (and non-photographers of course) ought to just turn off our computers, grab our cameras and go out there (i.e. walk, bike, take the bus) to make pictures of our beautiful planet.
Ah? How about that?

I think I’m in love

Potomac river, Virginia
Potomac river, Virginia

I think I’m in love with Virginia.
I’ve never seen anything quite like this place before.
It must be the special combination of beauty, simplicity and (duh!) the past.
As long as I can remember I’ve loved the fast heartbeat of the big cities but as I was driving my car (along the tree-lined roads) behind the Virginians I learned to slow down and eventually enjoy (yes!) the strangely measured yet, LIVELY, pace of life over there.
No doubt the Virginians should be considered strong candidates for the 2007 “the friendliest people on earth” award.
Either this, or they just liked me so much… :)
