rust prints and one weak transfer

Here's my two rusted prints and one transfer that I don't really like, but I'll show them for critique. I think the rust technique will look best with a contrasting tone, like blue, instead of BW images.

Rusted transfer 1:
Lunch (rust transfer)

Rust transfer 2: (this one is ok, but it looks best when just viewed normally)
Pondering (rust transfer)

Mod transfer with heavy matte: (not bad but I should have used more modpodge on the edges)
Johnny (mod transfer)

What does everyone think?

OK -- one of my new rust transfers is pretty cool. I rusted the matte paper first, the did a mod transfer to it using regular light paper. I will try again with gesso, if I ever actually get around to buying it.

It mutes the rusty look, but still lets it show through. Unfortunately, I tore off a large portion of the print and it didn't transfer. But I'll still post it when it's all dry.

Very cool!
I tried adding distress ink to the transfer which created a somewhat similar appearance.
