expiriment...

Taken with a very slow shutter speed - looking for a sense of movement and a dgree of abstraction.Street photo - Kuala Lumpur.

Interesting experiment -- this can sometimes work pretty well (see Nitsa's galleries for some nicely blurred pictures). However, you mostly just have concrete blurred in the image -- not too exciting. Try it some more with a more engaging subject than the top of the stairs.

Thanks - I think I shot from the hip (trying to be discrete).

Discrete is overrated!

Point taken about discreet.

You suggested I look at Nitsa's galleries (re OOF images)but I can't see how you access them from this site - is there something I am missing? I can't see a way into any galleries - unless it is with a URL like yours.

P.S. Your web site is cool - lots of work but well worth the effort!

Hell yeah, discrete is WAY overrated! Shoot them in the face if you have to!
I can appreciate the idea, but you should have at least something recognizable in your shot. Something that keeps the eye in the picture.

simplephotography - thanks for your comments.

I appreciate and value your input. A visual focus and keeping the viewer's eye in the picture are things often overlooked and it is good to be reminded.

Great web site by the way!

ndnbrunei, her main gallery is here: http://www.nonphotography.com/gallery.html

That will let you browse all the minor galleries but she doesn't group any of the styles, like her OOF shots -- so you may have to search a little. If you go to the main www.nonphotography.com page, she has a side page that describes her whole philosophy and somewhere in there, she touches on the OOF thing. Sorry I can't give a more specific link :)

And thanks -- I did spend a lot of time on my site because I wanted to learn how to do the programming, and I'm pretty happy with it. Lots of work still to do, but it's a constant effort. I'm glad others appreciate it.
